At first it was the love of the asanas and physicality of the practice but as she continued to explore yoga, Rebecca discovered a holistic way of life rooted in service and kindness. While studying the teachings of Sivananada Yoga in her 200-hour certification, Rebecca learned about the philosophy and spiritual principles of yoga as well as the importance of Pranayama (Breathing) and Meditation. By completing a 300-hour Yoga Works Certification, Rebecca continued to advance her yoga training. This intensive program included a concentration in yoga anatomy and alignment, injury management, hands on assisting, and a 40-hour private mentorship.
As a teacher, Rebecca focuses on the principles of yoga through breath work, physical poses (asanas), and meditation. She believes that every body and mind can benefit from the practice of yoga. Her classes focus on proper alignment in poses to build strength and increase flexibility. She also integrates yogic breathing, relaxation and meditation to assist with stress management and introduce mindfulness exercises. Students in Rebecca’s class can expect to have a balanced practice that emphasizes self-awareness and wellness.
Rebecca journeyed to deepen her study of the practice by becoming a teacher. A dedicated student of yoga since 2009, she is rooted in the virtuous teachings and creates a safe space for students to nurture their minds, bodies, and spirits.
